Minnesota Worker's Compensation: Information and Specialized Services

Minnesota is unique; it makes available to injured employees up to $60,000.00 to acquire an accessible home or to remodel their existing home to address their needs resulting from a work related injury. To obtain this money, the State of Minnesota sets forth specific requirements and procedures that must be followed. Accessibility Design knows the intricate details of the award process and parameters of the program, as well as the check points and requirements along the way. Our experience and specialized knowledge of home access, product specification, and project management provides the eligible worker, their family, employer and/or insurance company with the necessary guidance through the process and numerous steps, from beginning to end, to enable the award dollars to the individual.

Specialized services for this process are:

• Home Access Site Visit
• Gathering Required Information: Medical and Rehabilitation
• Project Management and Coordination with "Key Players" (e.g.; Injured Employee, Family Members, Caregivers, QRC, Insurance Companies, Attorneys, Product Vendors, Contractors, Architects, Minnesota Council on Disabilities, Department of Labor and Industry)
• Design, Product Research, and Specification, and Drawings/Drafting (as needed)
• Cost Estimates and Bid Gathering
• Report Production and Submittal

Once the monies are awarded, Accessibility Design can then continue to be of assistance by providing these services during construction and at project completion:

• Project Management
• Construction Site visits
• Incompletion Contractor Checklist
• Post Occupancy Education
• Reports and Project Completion Documentation and Reports
