Kandyce Thompson
Designer, Access Specialist, Project Manager

Ms. Thompson joined the Accessibility Design team in 2008 bringing with her a deeply rooted passion for design excellence. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Architecture and began her professional career working in commercial architecture. Seeing a need, she spearheaded the creation of an Interior Design Division within the architecture firm. After several years, Ms. Thompson left commercial architecture in order to fulfill her professional goal of working in the area of residential design and started her own design consulting business in Montana. In 1992 she moved to Minnesota and continued working as a residential architectural designer.

With over 25 years of design experience, Ms. Thompson is able to understand and navigate the complexities of building and remodeling for individuals with special needs. Her success as a designer is based on her ability to keep an eye on the big picture while focusing on the details. Her insightful and innovative design solutions are her hallmarks.

To design spaces that integrate both beauty and function, Ms. Thompson uses her creative vision and a common sense, practical approach. With her keen imagination and ability to problem solve three dimensionally, she is able to integrate architecture, access features, specialty products for personal care, safety, and independent living into any home design.

In addition to residential design, she has extensive experience designing commercial and residential cabinetry and custom furniture, applying her penchant for details to these areas.
